Going green with gas

Our commitment to the environment is much more than just a load of hot air.

At CNG we don’t see why using gas should compromise our customers’ environmental credentials – in fact, right now we’re looking at ways to make natural gas a positive choice in the drive for a greener future. What’s more, we’re firm believers in leading by example, and that’s why we’re adopting new initiatives and working practices that will help us to reduce our own impact on the environment.

• As part of our long-term commitment to carbon neutrality we’re currently developing an optional carbon-offsetting scheme that will involve the support and cooperation of a major environmental organisation. Watch this space for details.

• Our state-of-the-art Automated Meter Reading technology gives customers a highly accurate and more detailed profile of their gas consumption, which in turn provides greater scope for saving fuel and reducing overall carbon emissions.

• At our Harrogate headquarters we’re moving towards sustainable working practices in as many areas of our business as possible. From electronic billing and paperless administration right through to car-sharing schemes and low-energy lighting, we’re looking into the way we work and the impact of our commercial operations.
