Harrogate-based CNG, the UK ’s leading independent supplier of natural gas for business, has joined forces with Oakdale Golf Club and a host of local businesses to help raise more than £8000 for two well deserving charities.

The ‘CNG Golf Day’ held in loving memory of the company's founder Colin Gaines was a great success and the funds raised were divided between two charities that support people with terminal illnesses; Candlelighters and St Gemma’s Hospice. The Golf day is now set to become an annual event to help even more local causes.

24 teams enjoyed a days golfing in the glorious sunshine, followed by a scrumptious buffet and beverages on the terrace. To boost funds further a charity auction was held throughout the day with a great range of goodies to bid on.

Jacqui Hall, MD of CNG Ltd commented: “We are honoured to have been able to support two very worthwhile organisations in such a fun way. We are always looking for new ways to help the communities in which we work and hope to help more charities in the future.”

Elizabeth Baxter, Fundraising Manager for St Gemma’s Hospice said; “We are delighted that CNG have raised such an amazing amount of money for our patients.  The Hospice relies on the support of individuals and businesses for the majority of its running costs and we could not continue to care for so many people every year without this vital support.”

“We are most grateful to all at CNG who made this generous donation possible and they can rest assured that the money they have worked so hard to raise will be very well spent on the patients in our care."
