Harrogate-based CNG, the UK ’s leading independent supplier of natural gas for business, has revolutionised billing capabilities with the launch of its own Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system.

AMR, the latest in a long line of additions to the CNG service portfolio, has been designed to reduce costs for customers wherever possible. Manufactured by partner Technolog, the small device will be used across the board to save CNG customers time and money.

CNG is offering this service to all of its current and prospective customers to provide them with real, accurate usage data in order to identify inefficiencies and rectify them. This information will be accessed via a secure login on an online portal and is available the day after consumption.

AMR is a vital step towards reducing time wasted on reading collections and the carbon footprint involved in gathering data in such a way.

Richard Atkinson, Sales and Marketing Director for CNG commented: “We feel customers will welcome the introduction of this innovation in meter reading. It allows the customer to identify cases of over usage and make adjustments to their usage pattern accordingly.  Just as important, are the service benefits we can deliver as part of the package”.

“What AMR really brings to the fore is the amount of time previously wasted on estimated billing. Inaccurate readings incur costs for both supplier and customer. Now CNG customers will truly only pay for what they have used, and also avoid time consuming queries.”

The launch of AMR is another mark of success for CNG which has enjoyed continued growth despite the current climate. New appointees, additional services and embarking on a quest to promote ‘green’ practices are just a few of the steps made by the team this year to drive the business forward.
