Database Administrator

We are searching for a Database Administrator to develop and maintain our databases at CNG. To be successful in this role, you will have proven expertise of database administration. You will have the know-how to effectively identify and develop solutions that leverage our data and database technologies to address business opportunities/challenges.

Utilising your strong analytical and organisational skills, you will drive continuous improvement and help to implement change to support our ambitious vision. Above all, you will need a great aptitude for creative problem solving and possess strong communication skills as you work collaboratively with numerous teams and stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities:
• Maintaining CNG’s databases on a daily/ weekly basis
• Manage resolution of related incidents and changes
• Designing and developing new solutions
• Reporting
• Supporting the wider business

Experience/Knowledge required:
• MS SQL Server Administration experience
• Experience of SSIS support
• Understanding of structured query language (SQL)
• Knowledge of 'relational database management systems' (RDBMS), 'object oriented database management systems' (OODBMS) and XML database management systems
• Some experience with SQL Server in Azure
• Knowledge of team source control tools e.g. GIT, TFS, VSTS or similar
• Managing incidents, problems and changes using support systems
• Working in an agile environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities

Knowledge of any of the following would be advantageous but is not essential:
• Experience with performance tuning and optimisation
• Azure SQL PaaS (Platform as a service)
• Working knowledge of PowerShell
• SQL Server data tools including database projects
• SSIS development
