Project Manager

We are currently searching for a Project Manager to join our growing IT and Change team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team to lead and manage individual or multiple project teams and be responsible for delivering projects and business benefits.

Key responsibilities
Effectively manage the project/s
• Planning and monitoring of project deliverables
• Regular reporting on the status of all projects
• Managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans
• Ensure projects have appropriate governance and are delivered using methodology appropriate to the individual project (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid etc.)
• Maintaining a forward looking project plan, with scope, time, resource and cost estimates.
• Monitoring overall project progress and use of project resources, initiating corrective action where necessary
• Applying change control and configuration management processes

Work as a CNG Project Manager:
• Establish a good working relationship with the Project Teams and wider business
• Manage and motivate the project team
• Develop and maintain an agreed project plan
• Tailor expert knowledge to meet specific circumstances
• Plan and manage deployment of physical resources to meet project milestones
• Build and sustain effective communications with other roles involved in the project

Lead the Project Team:
• Have a continuous improvement mind-set
• Motivate and inspire the team to be successful
• Celebrate success
• Support and mentor individuals within the team
• Provide clear milestones and expectations
• Great at all kinds of communication and know how and when to use it
• Able to help your team adapt and make difficult decisions
• Provide clarity and focus

Support the wider business:
• Communicate and collaborate well with key stakeholders, other Managers and the Senior Leadership Team, keeping them up to date with progress, issues and developments
• Understand and support the wider business through clear communication, collaboration and demonstration of the CNG Values ‘One Team’
• Willing and active participation in the CNG community and helping IT remain integrated with the wider business
• Be a champion and live the CNG Values at all times, inspiring the team to contribute positively to the unique CNG culture

Person Specification:
• Sound knowledge of project management methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle
• Delivery and people focussed
• Good team building skills
• Experienced in stakeholder management
• Ability to communicate (both verbally and written) at all levels
• Good negotiating skills
