What should I expect when getting a new meter and supply contract?

The world of gas and new meter connections especially can be complicated, time consuming and stressful. However this should be something that your supplier is able to assist you with – making the process as smooth as it can be. At CNG we do everything in our power (pardon the pun!) to make things as easy as possible for our customers, so below is a typical journey of what you can expect when getting a supply contract and meter installation.

Requesting a quote is easy. All your supplier should ask is that you complete a new meter application form, CNG customers can find this here. If you have any questions or need any assistance with completing the form you can contact one of our New Connections experts on 01423 535664, who will be happy and answers any questions you may have.

Receive a quote. Once you have submitted your request you will receive a quote from your supplier. At CNG we know that time is invaluable, that’s why we offer a fast turnaround and you should receive your contract and meter install quote within 48 hours of submitting your quote request. This is to ensure that you can make a decision, get your meter installed and allow your businesses to be up and running as quickly as possible. Alongside quick turnarounds, we also offer totally free of charge low pressure diaphragm meter installation when a supply contract is agreed.

Sign a supply contract. When a contract is agreed, you will then be assigned a dedicated account manager who will look after you and your meter install. If you choose to be supplied by CNG, when we have received your contract we will begin the process of nominating your supply contract and ensure we have all the documents required.

Get an install date. Now we’re cooking on gas, or, at least nearly. At CNG, once we have your contract nominated, your account manager will raise the request to begin your works and provide you with an install date for your new meter. If the appointment date doesn’t fit your schedule we will do our upmost to ensure we can install your meter at a time that suits you.

Start using your brand new gas meter. Now you’re all set up and ready to go. CNG customers will receive a welcome letter and our customer service team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have during your time as a CNG customer.
