Jacqui named as Chair of The CBI Yorkshire and the Humber Council

21 November 2019

It’s no secret that our MD Jacqui is passionate about giving back, whether that is to the CNG team, the local community or to other businesses, so we’re absolutely thrilled to announce that she has been announced as the Chair of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Yorkshire and Humber Council. This is an amazing opportunity for Jacqui to get involved with steering the relationships between business and policy makers.

What does the CBI do?

The CBI brings businesses and government together, so both can have a greater impact. Engaging with political stakeholders, the CBI shares the real-world impact of policy decisions with those making them, with a view to protecting the economy and encouraging prosperity. This is an amazing opportunity for Jacqui to work with businesses and make their voices heard, while championing the region and its potential for future growth.

Jacqui is taking over from Richard Flint who was the Former CEO and Executive Chairman of Sky Betting & Gaming.

Commenting on the appointment, Beckie Hart, CBI Yorkshire and The Humber Regional Director, said: “We are delighted that Jacqui will chair the CBI Yorkshire and The Humber Council and welcome her warmly to the role. She brings with her a wealth of experience and a unique understanding of the business needs of the region.

“Jacqui has a breadth of knowledge in regulation, stakeholder management, policy matters and engagement, having led on this for CNG for a number of years, and will undoubtedly bring this expertise and guidance to the CBI.”

Jacqui added: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to take the reins following Richard’s successful time as Chair. I cannot wait to get started. Despite any current uncertainty in the business community, I am confident that we have the expertise, passion and drive to overcome this together. Our region is spectacular and is capable of many amazing things, not least collaboration, innovation and a continued commitment to growth!

“I especially want us to look hard at the opportunities for business stemming from the Government’s ‘net zero’ carbon target. It’s so important we build on the work done so far on our region’s global competitiveness, including its infrastructure, transport network, housing stock – including affordable housing – and the important role of digitisation and Artificial Intelligence. We can compete, we can participate and I think we can even lead the way given everything at our fingertips here. It’s an honour to help drive this forward with such an amazing group of people and businesses.”

We’re so proud of you Jacqui and we know lots of businesses will benefit from all your incredible insight and expertise. Stay tuned for more updates.
