Kicking Off Our £25K Charity Challenge
19 June 2019
This year, Team CNG is celebrating a monumental 25 years in business, meaning we’ve been changing the industry landscape and helping our customers ‘power up’ for over a quarter of a century!
Such an achievement calls for more than a cake and a few bottles of prosecco! Harrogate has been our home since day one and we’ve proudly supported loads of local causes over the years because doing the right thing is in our DNA. We’ve helped our community through a whole host of challenges and fundraisers, from bake sales, curry nights and quizzes, to bike rides, abseils and golf days; there’s always something going on to help the fantastic charities and organisations that do such important work.
Our CNGers love a challenge in true CNG fashion we don’t do anything by halves, we knew we needed to go big with our 25th year charity challenge! We’ve really raised the bar, aiming to raise £25,000 over the course of the year, for 25 charities close to our hearts.
During National Volunteers’ week we invited our 25 charities to a coffee and cake morning (special mention to our friends at Blakefields for the incredible treats) in CNG Towers to get everyone together, introduce ourselves and talk through why we wanted to set ourselves this challenge. We showed them what some of our fabulous CNGers have done as well as what we’ve got planned so far to help us meet our £25k target.
It was great to have people from each charity together in one space, sharing their stories, ideas and advice, and creating opportunities to help each other grow and succeed. Here at CNG we’re all about teamwork, we have a track record for achieving great things when we work together and smashing our £25k target will need the same can do attitude – but we know we’ve got it in us!
Some of the wonderful people from our chosen charities had some lovely things to say about their time at CNG and our fab CNGers:
Asif from ShineUK said: “I was blown away by the ethos of the company and the enthusiasm of your respective teams.”
Linda from Yorkshire Air Ambulance said: “The atmosphere was great and the food amazing. You all should be so proud of the team at CNG, they were so welcoming and genuine. You’re so lucky to work in such a great environment that’s inspirational and aspirational, it was absolutely fabulous.”
