Celebrating National Volunteers' Week

Cng Cape

This week is National Volunteers’ Week, and as a business that places huge importance on giving back, we wanted to celebrate in the best way CNG know how – by enabling our CNGers to support a range of good causes.

We’ve offered every one of our 217 strong team a chance to swap a working day for a day of volunteering for a cause that matters to them, not just this year, but every year!

Supporting charitable organisations and community projects is an important part of the CNG business. We support a range of charities, including Martin House, Mind and Claro Enterprises. The support we provide comes in many forms, from fundraising, taking part in challenges and giving monetary donations, through to offering up our time.

We’ve planted 6000 trees with The Woodland Trust and spent time helping young people develop their CVs and skill sets with The Prince’s Trust. We recently donated more than 240 hours of our time to Henshaws Arts & Crafts in Knaresborough, to help prepare a sensory garden.

We always encourage our employees to get involved with volunteering, asking them to suggest the charities and organisations that they want us to support as a business. It’s our mantra that if you have the ability to help, then you should, and we’re living this by dedicating time, as well as money to these vital organisations. We now have 217 days of volunteer time available over the next year to support some deserving causes.

Here at CNG, it doesn’t have to be National Volunteers’ Week for us to recognise the difference we can make by supporting good causes, but it does provide us with a reason to celebrate the incredible hard work that these organisations put in, all year round!
