Record success for Christmas charity efforts
13 January 2017
We’re back into the swing of it and ready for another exciting and busy year here at CNG HQ, but we wanted to acknowledge the work of many of the team in spreading some all-important festive cheer for local charities at the end of 2016.
Some of our CNG-ers were on hand to help out at the annual Harrogate Homeless Project’s annual Christmas dinner for its staff and service users. The 2016 event was the biggest ever, catering for 105 people. Each year CNG supports the event, helping to serve the food and bringing presents to guests.
Liz from the Harrogate Homeless Project commented: “What a great event it was – it seems to go from strength to strength! The service users I chatted to were absolutely buzzing about it and I noticed some of our more ‘difficult to engage’ clients had come along and really enjoyed it too.”
Extra gifts were donated to Wesley Chapel to hand out at their Christmas lunch. The team there added:
“We would like you to know that we had a most successful Christmas lunch party on Christmas day, feeding 87 folks in-house and taking out 10 meals-on-wheels. We had 18 volunteer helpers, and 22 volunteer drivers on the day.
Entertainment was well received, and in particular of course the handing out of boxes of Cadbury’s chocolates to every guest.
“A few leftover chocolates and presents (woollies) were taken next door to Springboard, the day centre of Harrogate Homeless Project. Many thanks to CNG and staff for your much appreciated generosity.”
We are proud to support all this amazing work being done within our local community and just as proud of all of our wonderful team that always go above and beyond to help.
